What is Just Reservations?
Just Reservations is a table reservation platform built exclusively for restaurants and venues that already run on Square. Instead of bolting a third-party booking widget onto a POS system, it's built directly on Square's own Restaurant and Customer APIs — so the floor plan, the guest list, and the payment processor are the same ones the restaurant already uses for everything else.
How is it different from OpenTable and Resy?
OpenTable and Resy run on top of any POS, including Square, and charge per cover on top of a monthly platform fee. Just Reservations runs inside the Square ecosystem and charges a flat monthly fee — $0 per cover, no matter how many guests come through the door.

What can a restaurant do with it?
Guest booking
- A hosted booking page per location — mobile-friendly, no widget to embed
- Guests pick date, time, and party size, and enter contact info
- If a deposit is required, the guest enters a card at booking through Square's Web Payments SDK — card data never touches Just Reservations' servers
Staff and floor operations
- Walk-in capture in one tap — no full guest form required
- Staff can create private reservations directly from the dashboard
- Table and seat assignment from the Overview dashboard
- Every reservation moves through the same four states — Confirmed, Seated, Finished, Cancelled — grouped into All / Upcoming / Seated tabs with date filtering
Deposits and no-show protection
- Lite: one flat deposit amount for the whole restaurant — simple, no setup
- Pro and Scale: deposit amounts set individually per table or per section — a private dining room or a 10-top can carry a different deposit than a standard two-top
- Cancellations stay under staff control from the dashboard. There's no automatic no-show charge — a cancellation is a manual decision, not a background process
Square integration
- Floor plans sync from Square automatically once a week, plus an on-demand "Sync Now" button for an instant refresh
- When a POS check closes, the table releases and the reservation marks Finished automatically, in real time via webhook — no manual close-out
- Guest contact info goes straight into the merchant's own Square Customer Directory, visible across every location on that Square account — not a separate list Just Reservations owns
Communications
- Booking confirmations sent by email (SendGrid) and SMS (Twilio) the moment a reservation is made
Multi-location and bilingual
- Any plan can connect multiple Square locations; Scale is built specifically for high-volume, multi-location operators
- Both the staff dashboard and the guest booking flow are available in English and Spanish
