Perhaps to understand better what SEO is and how it works, it is important to start at the beginning, understanding a little of its history … 

Speaking of internet search engines, let's go back to 1993 where Architext (which became Excite) appeared, followed by Yahoo! in 1994 and finally Google in 1997. Google was created by its founders, as a large-scale search tool and at the same time to "organize the internet", using links to determine its relevance according to the searches made by users. 

The organization of the links is based on the academic method of presentation, in which depending on the sources, the citations and what the connoisseurs think about a topic or article, it will be more or less relevant.

At the end of 1997 two things happened. On the one hand, PC Magazine wrote that Google “has an unusual ability to return extremely relevant results” and ranked it as the main search site in the “Top 100 Web Sites”, and on the other hand it was the first time that the term SEO was mentioned.

As you already know, there are millions of web pages being published every day, which generates a brutal competition when it comes to positioning yours, and here is where SEO comes in. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, it means that through a set of techniques the algorithms of the search engines are influenced to define the positioning of a page.

SEO is based on keywords, when a person conducts a search, they use keywords for the type of product, service and / or information that they want to find. These same words are the ones that should be used in our pages to reach the audience we want. We tend to believe that keywords are quite simple, and we put what we think our public would search for, however it is a bit more complicated, so the best thing is to do a keyword analysis to know what people are really looking for in a certain field.

But keywords are not everything, and every day things change a little more. We have to keep in mind that SEO is not a magic thing that will make your page appear on the first page of google. We need to generate a set of techniques that will lead us to good positioning. And there is a very important point that we cannot ignore or detach from SEO, and that is content creation.

Many people believe that the two are very different and that each one works alone, when we should understand that they actually work together and that neither is less important. A metaphor for this idea is to think that these are two personalities living in the same person.
